Deep within the Scub Coral Command Center, Renton reunites with his long-lost sister Diane. In a vast and mysterious library, the origins of the Scub Coral and the history of mankind are revealed. Can the two races create a united future by learning from mistakes of the past?
Standing before the final precipices of his mad plan, Dewey is ready to destroy a world he deems beyond redemption. Using the suborbital super Weapon Oratorio #8, a hole is driven through the crust of the world, and Anemone is sent on one last mission. As The End approaches the Command Cluster, Dominic follows through the rapidly closing hole in a desperate attempt to save both the world and the girl he loves.
The adventure that 14-year-old Renton Thurston embarked upon when he piloted the Nervash Type Zero mecha and joined the crew of the Gekkostate reaches a delayed conclusion. With numerous plot points to resolve, the filmmakers resort to extended scenes where Morris explains the backstory in detail. Meanwhile, Colonel Dewey begins his campaign to annihilate the Scub Corals, even if it means destroying the universe.
Renton, Eureka, her adopted children, Dominic, Anemone, and Holland all come together for the climactic battle to prevent the cosmos from being destroyed and to foster understanding between different species. Director Tomoki Kyoda showcases stunning special effects to balance out the exposition. However, Eureka Seven was more captivating in its initial season, focusing on Renton's journey to find his place as a crew member of the Gekkostate.
